Hello,
Green Energy Corp has released an OpenSource implementation of master/slave TCP/IP and serial DNP3 implementation (http://www.greenenergycorp.com/, www.dnp.org). DNP3 is widely used in the electrical and water industries (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNP3). The integration of the DNP3 libraries developed by Green Energy Corp would considerably increase the interoperability of the OpenSCADA software to other industries and regions.

Sure, any protocol support increase the interoperability but present objective fators like limited resources and availability of devices in bind with allowing more like narrow area protocols.
For me the protocol have not interest now and I have not any device which the protocol implement.
The work can made by prepay to developing time of the task.
